Have Hope, Houston

When the storm rips you to pieces, you get to decide how to put yourself back together.

-Bryant H. McGill

Our hearts go out to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The Houston community is suffering and will be on the road to recovery for months to come. As we wait for flood waters and traffic to subside, it is easy to get discouraged. But remember that Houstonians are strong and resilient. I’ve lived through Allison, Rita, Ike and now Harvey, and with each disaster that strikes, I am in awe of this great city’s ability to help and heal one another, and come back stronger than ever.

If you’re looking for a meaningful, hands-on way to help Houstonians recover, please consider helping the Houston Community Tool Bank- either at their upcoming fundraiser and tool drive or through a gift of your time and/or resources. This non-profit’s blue tools are already being lent out all over Houston and doing so much good for our community’s recovery.

You can click here to attend the party at Karbach Brewing Company on Wednesday, September 13th from 2:30 – 8:30pm.

You may also visit The Houston Tool Bank website to make a donation.

Have hope, Houston. We’re gonna get through this together!

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.  That’s what this storm’s all about.
